Thank you, ogdenmuseum. To showcase in Louisiana Contemporary 2024 has been a true honor. I had never shown my work in New Orleans, or Louisiana at all. To be able to showcase the work I created in both Louisiana and Alaska is even more personally satisfying. I left Louisiana to go to Alaska to explore the interconnectivity I believed I saw and to be able to showcase the work in this magnitude is an honor.
The caliber of work in the show is inspiring and humbling. All the other art on the wall is beautiful and tremendous. It’s an honor to share the walls with all the other artists from my former homeroom teacher to my old senior buddy (and best friend) heydraughter. I’ve struggled to find the words to express how it feels.
heydraughter, I love you. I’m proud of you. Thank you for including me in so many long conversations and artistic ideas. As a friend it feels equally beautiful to see your work on the walls too. You’ve worked so hard and this is just the start!
