Growing up, how often did you learn about healthy hearing habits? Personally I don’t remember this at all. I remember learning how to brush our teeth properly, how our eyes worked and most often the infamous food pyramid. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Hearing screenings are typically done at pediatrician offices or by a school nurse. According to the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), hearing screenings should be conducted: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -At school entry for all children -At least once at ages 6, 8, and 10 -At least once during middle school -At least once during high school -For any student entering a new school system without evidence of a previous hearing screening ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The only thing is - these are not always done in a sound proof or treated room, not all noise-induced hearing losses may be caught and (I personally feel) they can easily be cheated/passed - especially if the student is facing the tester and watching visual cues. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I wonder if hearing/hearing loss awareness and healthy heari...
