The unexpectedly cool August temperatures of late have helped firefighters, but wildfire season isn’t over. As Labor Day weekend approaches and temperatures are expected to rise again, Oregon officials are urging the public to obey local fire restrictions to prevent more wildfires. As of Thursday, there are 12 large fires burning in Oregon, the Northwest Interagency Coordination Center said. The wildfires cover an area of 338,689 total acres, officials said. The two largest fires include the Battle Mountain Complex and the Crazy Creek.
