"What was that?" I remember thinking when I first experienced the world of sound with my hearing devices. The hum of daily school life suddenly became a symphony of noises I had never noticed before.
š From the ringing of the school bell to the quiet whisper of pencils on paper, these sounds create the vibrant backdrop of a school day. Every creak of a door, rustle of paper, and chatter in the hallway becomes a reminder of how much sound surrounds us, even in the most familiar places. Half the time I couldn't hear these sounds, but together they added up and made listening to what I wanted/need to hear more difficult.
ā¤ļø Whether itās the clattering of trays in the cafeteria (oh the cafeteria was my worst listening environment š©) or the ticking of the classroom clock, these everyday sounds are part of the rhythm of school life. Some of these sounds might be surprising, some cherished, and others a bit overwhelmingābut each one tells a story.
š What sounds do you or your child not...
