If you were to tell me 2 years ago I would be shooting a NASCAR race, I would have called tou crazy. But here we are, taking all opportunities that come my way and striving to create engaging content. I know little to nothing about NASCAR or motor sports in general, but what I took away from this experience is the sheer passion that fans have for this sport. Challenging conditions are the name of the game when you shoot here. 95 degree heat, unable to hear anything outside of fhe roar of the engines, extremely fast moving subjects, and a limited areas to shoot from. The opening ceremony was where I took some of my best photos being as up close to the drivers and crowd as I could. Next time I cover motor sports, ill make sure to have a 70-200 or even more reach.
