Continuing on with our season projections, we've got the Toronto Maple Leafs at
#10, and third in the Atlantic Division.
I'm expecting a pretty similar regular season from Toronto. It'll be hard for Auston Matthews to replicate a 69-goal season again — but he'll still be the league's premier goal scorer, and likely help Knies elevate to the next level. Historically, top-end players have great seasons in their contract year, so expect Mitchell Marner to have elite production as well (whether that translates to the playoffs is another thing).
Easton Cowan & Nikita Grebyonkin are both question marks. I think they make the team, but the level of impact as rookies on such a big market will have to be seen. I'm also expecting John Tavares' regression to continue, and Max Pacioretty — although he insists he's healthy — can't be relied upon. Overall, Toronto's offense is one that will live and die with their stars, not their depth.
