We have been SUPER exited to announce the launch of our new Women’s Football Fandom Insights Report this week✨ One of the most interesting aspects of our report covered LGBTQ+ and women’s fan safety at games. We asked for both communities experiences at men’s and women’s games and the disparity was huge! Pretty much of all our LGBTQ+ and women respondents felt safe and comfortable at women’s games BUT only: 👉 45% of women felt fully safe at men’s games 👉 30% of LGBTQ+ respondents felt fully safe at men’s games So…what is the women’s game getting right? 🫶 The fans: being respectful towards others at games. Generally those attending seem to have a genuine interest in progressing the game and there have been few instances of anti-social behaviour, racism and homophobia at women’s games/tournaments. 🌈 History: women’s football has a HUGE and beautiful LGBTQ+ community and we’re super proud of our icons: Alex Scott, Viv Miedema, Sam Kerr, Beth Mead & Geyse to name a few!
