🇵🇭🇺🇸 Filipino-American striker Nick Markanich will move to Spanish second division side CD Castellón next year on a six-figure transfer fee, which is among the highest in the USL Championship history. Last night, he set the league record by scoring his 26th goal of the season 👏🏾 It’s an impressive achievement, Markanich scored 26 goals in 30 games. It’s no wonder he attracted a Spanish club to sign him. Before he leaves for Europe, he is giving back to Charleston Battery for believing in him. The 24-year-old joined them last year after a trial. Born and raised in Illinois, Markanich played for the Chicago Fire academy and then went off to college. After college, he was selected by FC Cincinnati in the 2022 MLS SuperDraft.
