$15 Million Dollars! The Florida Theatre is closed from July to October of 2023 for the next round of renovations, which started in 2019.  This is all to prepare the theatre for its 100th anniversary in 2027!   During the closure, they will repair all the flaking and peeling decorative plaster in the auditorium, paint the lobbies and the auditorium to the 1927 color palette, replace the entire air conditioning system, and update all the public restrooms.   They’ve already replaced the 1,865 seats, installed a new concert sound system, lighting system and repurposed the second floor of the office building into the new Remedy Lounge   By the end of this year, they will have raised and spent $15 million on improvements.
