Saturday will include a lot of firsts:
First time Auburn and Oklahoma have played on either campus.
First time these two have faced off outside of New Orleans.
First time they haven't played in the Sugar Bowl.
First time facing off as conference foes.
And hopefully, the first time Auburn gets a win against the Sooners on the gridiron.
Auburn and Oklahoma have only faced off twice previously, both in postseason games.
The first matchup in 1972 was played at Tulane Stadium. OU went up 31-0 in the first half, forcing Heisman Trophy winner Pat Sullivan and Company to play from behind. Sullivan finished 20-of-44 for 250 yards, 1 TD, and 1 interception. Star WR Terry Beasley was locked down, failing to record a catch in the game.
OU would win 40-22.
