@ECUHealthNC
We're proud to recognize the Language Access Services team at ECU Health for their work interpreting and translating for those who speak languages other than English, including American Sign Language (ASL). Research consistently shows that language barriers can lead to longer hospital stays, unsafe communication, misdiagnoses and lower satisfaction with care. The Language Access Services team plays a critical role in bridging these gaps, ensuring that patients receive accurate information about their health, treatment options and care plans. We're grateful for their commitment to the patients and families of eastern North Carolina as they provide a vital service, connecting patients and families to their care teams. Recently, we highlighted the ASL Residency program taking shape at ECU Health, aimed to develop more skilled medical ASL interpreters. Learn more about the program here: go.ecuhealth.org/4chy0Qs
