Today in Hip-Hop — Kanye West drops “Runaway.” 🩰 On October 4, 2010, Kanye West released the second single from his fifth album ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.’ Its official release came a month after he and Pusha T debuted the song during a live performance at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards. Both the song and performance were viewed as somewhat of a “comeback” for West after his very public incident with Taylor Swift during the previous year’s VMAs. “Runaway” was praised by critics for its “sincere subject matter” and peaked at No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100.
