Embrace the joy of togetherness this World Pasta Day with this penne alla vodka recipe. Here’s to good food and even better company! 🍝💙 Ingredients (serves 4): 320g Barilla Penne 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil 2 garlic cloves 1 onion, finely chopped 1 tbsp tomato puree 1 x 400g tinned chopped tomatoes 80ml vodka sea salt and freshly ground black pepper 1 small handful basil leaves Method: 1. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the Barilla Penne according to package instructions, until al dente. 2. Drain and reserve some pasta water and remove from the heat. 3. Heat a large deep sided skillet until hot. Add the extra virgin olive oil and garlic and cook for a couple of minutes until the garlic has flavoured the oil. 4. Remove the garlic. 5. Add the onion and cook for another 3-4 minutes until just softening. 6. Stir in the tomato puree and cook for 1 minute. 7. Add the tinned tomatoes and vodka and bring to a simmer.
