Auburn makes the rare trip to Lexington, KY this weekend - only the fourth time since the turn of the century.
Auburn-Kentucky used to be a annual event from 1954 to 1971. Kentucky would win the first matchup in 1934 (9-0) and Auburn would win the second the following year (23-0). To date, Auburn leads the series in dominating fashion with a 27-6-1 record.
This series has seen a lot uniform-wise from both schools. Yes, Auburn has sported a similar look for most of the meetings. The Tigers have worn striped-only helmets, helmet numbers, and the AU logo. The most unique Auburn uniform came in 1966 when the road white jerseys were devoid of the traditional sleeve stripes, moving the TV numbers down from the top of the shoulders. These were worn all season long until the season-finale against Alabama.
