The Missouri Student Association recently increased the STRIPES safe ride program budget by $50,000. According to MSA Vice President Emily Brockmann, 20% of the student body signed up for the program during the first three weeks of the 2024 fall semester. The program grew in popularity this semester as the new MSA administration prioritized student safety, especially late at night on busy days. They expanded advertising to first-year students and promoted STRIPES at events in the fall. “Now you walk around campus and you ask a random person, ‘Have you heard of STRIPES?’ And they're like, ‘Of course, I love STRIPES,’ which is what our main goal for this semester is because that was not present in the past,” said Braden Bond, the STRIPES Director of Operations.
