Due to a soggy evening, the traditional Beggars' Night in the Des Moines metro was moved to Halloween. Now, the city of Des Moines is asking residents to weigh in on whether a permanent change should be made to the trick-or-treating schedule. If moved, the change would break with more than 80 years of tradition in which Des Moines metro kids trick-or-treat the day before Halloween. A new survey asks what day Beggars' Night should be in the future. Options include the traditional Oct. 30; Halloween night on Oct. 31; or the Saturday before Halloween, which next year is Oct. 25. The survey, made available Friday, is open until Nov. 15. Tap the link in our bio for more on this story. #DesMoines #Iowa #DSMUSA #halloween #trickortreat
