The facilities impacted include licensed general and long-term acute care hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, inpatient psychiatric facilities and dialysis and infusion clinics.
“The purpose of this requirement is to lower the risk of exposure to respiratory viruses for the highly vulnerable patients in these care settings,” said Austin Wingate, public information manager for the Alameda County Public Health Department, in an email.
