We recently said goodbye to Police Dog Axel 🐾💙⁣ ⁣ He was a much-loved good boy who served alongside his handler Acting Sergeant Brad Mascoll, before retiring in 2022. ⁣ ⁣ Axel had an outstanding career, performing duties which included searching for missing persons, tracking offenders, and locating property. ⁣ ⁣ His most notable work was his efforts in tracking and locating the driver of a stolen car that collided with a pole, killing the passenger. Axel searched for hours in horrendous weather with extreme winds before finding a discarded hoodie. This led him to locate the offender hiding under the seats in the bow of a boat, in the yard of a nearby factory a short time after. ⁣ ⁣ Our thoughts are with Brad and the extended Dog Squad family 🐾💙⁣ ⁣ #PoliceDog #DogSquad
