LSC cross country teams found themselves in unfamiliar course conditions on Saturday (Nov. 9), battling cold temperatures and a frosty trail at the NCAA Division II South Central Cross Country Regionals in Denver.
William Amponsah, the 2024 LSC men’s individual champion, claimed a runner up finish to lead West Texas A&M to a third-place team showing in the men’s regional that came with a trip to the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championship on November 23 for the Buffs team.
Amponsah posted a 31:17.0 over the 10k course trailing men’s medalist Roman Legendre of Adams State by 23 seconds. The Buffs scored 105 points behind the top 15 performances of Harry Louradour (9th/31:42.54) and Adrian Legarreta (11th/31:48.4).
