Hi friends! I'm back from hibernation, right on time for the new year. Things I'm grateful for this year include: Ilford HP5+ 400, Malick Sidibé, and rubylarkmendelsund. This is some of the film work we made together back in September for my advanced darkroom photography course at CU. When I first met her, Ruby struck me as a powerful, unashamedly brillant person–astronomer, geneticist, coolest kid on campus, etc. This photoshoot felt like a full circle moment for me because I finally got to capture her the way that I and many of her other friends see her! As we planned for the shoot, I felt Sidibé's cool, chic lens was the perfect aesthetic to place Ruby in to bring out the qualities that make her so sickkkk. Enjoy swiping through the images!
