A top North Korean general was wounded in a Ukrainian strike in Russia's Kursk region, it has been revealed—days after a powerful British Storm Shadow missile was reportedly used to target the area.
Western officials confirmed Thursday that a high-ranking North Korean military officer became a casualty of the war in Ukraine for the first time after Kim Jong Un sent some 10,000 troops to reinforce Putin's advancing lines in the region. The officials did not name the officer or specify how he was wounded.
On Wednesday, Ukraine launched British-supplied Storm Shadow missiles into Kursk, The Guardian reported, quoting Ukrainian and Western officials. Ukraine claimed to have destroyed a building with an underground ‘control room,’ believed to be housing both Russian and North Korean officials, after receiving permission to use Western long-range missiles to strike deep within Russian territory.
