This was a tough one for me. When I was 7, I had my first ever panic attack. We had just hopped off our Disney cruise at some Caribbean island and our snorkeling excursion guide told us to jump in over a sunken ship. Now donβt laugh, but at the time the only knowledge I knew of sunken ships were from the little mermaid with the sharks in them. I started panicking in the open ocean and will never forget how losing your breath over imaginary fear felt like for the first time. My brain really went into flight or fight mode AT 7!!! Crazy. I cried and swam the best I could back to the boat with my mom and my little life jacket π₯Ή

I most definitely have avoided snorkeling since, so facing some PTSD for
#BraveMas Day 2 felt incredible. The ocean is absolutely beautiful!!! I will definitely revisit snorkeling in small doses as I work my way back into the open ocean comfortably π₯°πͺπ
