“Otherside” is three micro-songs in one. The first minute details a paranoid, sleepless night off the Norwegian hash and ends in a six-bar run in which Bladee’s voice gradually pitches up as he mockingly promises to “put your friends on the list.”
On part two, his high evened out, he moves through a nocturnal cityscape with ice-cold confidence: “Alligator shoes, everything reptile / Only I can talk about the night, it’s mine.” This section ends with a bridge of sorts, in which he admits that everything is, in fact, not OK. “It’s bad / Even on a paradise island / I’m in hell in my mind,” he raps, his voice rising again for emphasis.
