As Canadians, we often take the sight of winter snowfall for granted. But for those in warmer climates seeking the magic of a snowy day, one spot in Alberta was recently highlighted by National Geographic as one of the world’s best places to experience snow ❄️
The magazine poured through historical data and seasonal trends to identify several locations globally where travellers have the best chance of experiencing a winter wonderland.
Lake Louise was listed as one of the top spots, with National Geographic saying that while the lake is stunning in the summer, it might be “even more photogenic when layered with snow" 📸
National Geographic touted the area’s upmarket chalets, resorts, and restaurants of Lake Louise Village. Other activities highlighted include ice skating in the village’s outdoor rink or riding a horse-drawn sleigh through the snow.
