“Students from Heritage High who participate in the My Brother’s Keeper and My Sister’s Keeper (MBK/MSK) program spent Monday serving our neighbors at So All May Eat (S.A.M.E.). This partnership with YVCHR provides students the opportunity to engage in service-learning activities during the school day via workshops and field trips. Each hands-on experience teaches work and life skills, while addressing important community issues and giving youth a sense of purpose and connection to others.
This group received multiple compliments from adult volunteers and the guests they served! And they made a big impact! In collaboration with other S.A.M.E. volunteers, they helped serve over 150 meals (including seconds), gave out 505 items of clothing, served 113 people at Choice Pantry, gave out 92 soaps, 100 razors, 23...
