With a $200,000 grant from the San Antonio Medical Foundation, a team of Trinity researchers is looking at alcohol use disorder, specifically how stress impacts addiction relapse and potentially advancing treatment options.
The project underscores Trinity’s growing reputation as a leader in research. On the project, Trinity (led by psychology professor Kah-Chung Leong) will work alongside the Southwest Research Institute and the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
Natalie Cornejo ’26, a neuroscience major from Cypress, Texas, is already hard at work in the lab on the project. An aspiring researcher who wants to get her doctorate one day, Natalie says she couldn’t ask for a better opportunity as an undergrad than this.
