Hey everyone, I wrote a piece for Time Magazine in honor of MLK Week, coinciding with the presidential inauguration—what Ambassador Andrew Young would call ‘God’s way of remaining anonymous.’ Dr. King’s message of brotherhood and unity resonates just as powerfully today as it did in 1963. In the face of division, his dream challenged us to disagree without being disagreeable, to rise above fear, and to see the humanity in each other. We’ve been here before—the 1960s tested the soul of America with the loss of Dr. King, Malcolm X, and the Kennedys. Yet, from that struggle came the Civil Rights Act, Voting Rights Act, and MLK Day—a reminder that progress is not inevitable but forged through resilience and determination. Reflecting on these lessons, I’m reminded of the power of dialogue, even with those who see the world differently. It’s the first step toward understanding and progress. I encourage you to read, share, and comment on this piece—it’s an important reflection for our time...
