Around 100 women were enslaved on a human egg farm in Georgia, where they were injected with hormones and treated like cattle, according to three Thai women who escaped on January 30. Lured by a Facebook job offer promising high salaries as surrogates, the women arrived in Georgia in August 2024, only to be held captive by a criminal syndicate led by Chinese nationals. Forced to undergo monthly egg extractions, some received no payment. Those who wanted to leave were told they had to pay €2,000 (£1,670).
