Last night, Wednesday 26 February, Jnetics – a charity dedicated to the prevention of genetic disorders more prevalent in the Jewish community – with the support of the Hakimi family, hosted an event in Essex, UK to educate hundreds and screen 140 young adults for free.
After Marley Hakimi’s recent Tay-Sachs Disease diagnosis, Chloe and Danny Hakimi wanted to collaborate closely with Jnetics to ensure that young Jewish adults, especially those beginning to think about starting or growing their family, are well informed about the impact of a child being born with a severe genetic condition ensuring they come forward to be screened.
It was a great evening with a huge impact.
