Physics Ph.D. student Charmi Patel '24 recently installed the HiT&MiS spectrograph in Kiruna, Sweden, to monitor space weather in the upper atmosphere. HiT&MiS, or the High Throughput and Multi Slit Imaging Spectrograph, was built by the Lowell Center for Space Science and Technology (LoCSST) to study atmospheric changes caused by solar radiation, also known as space weather. #weather #atmosphere #umass #lowell #umasslowell
