👏 SUCCESS - after nearly 190 years, the Galápagos Rail has been rediscovered on Floreana Island! 🙌 This rediscovery marks a significant step forward for the Floreana Restoration Project, a collaborative effort between fundacion.jocotoco, charlesdarwinfoundation and parquegalapagos with support from partners including Re:wild. Invasive species have severely impacted the Galápagos Rail because of their terrestrial lifestyle, making them extremely vulnerable to predators on the ground.
