Her Maryland house, now known as Clara Barton National Historic Site, once served as the headquarters of the American Red Cross.
📍Known as the first woman to hold a presidential cabinet position, Frances Perkins championed many labor rights that Americans enjoy today. Her role as Secretary of Labor, opened the door for other women to hold high government positions.
