Part #1 of building a IMU, a traditional way of building an underground oven here in Hawaii . I’m out here on the island with my good friend. Yes, you are from kiawe_outdoor helping him put an event on as a guest chef. here are some things I I learned about cooking a IMU 1. Make sure your volcanic rocks are porous when they are not Porras. They obtain a lot more moisture and can’t explode so you need to make sure your rocks are felt thoroughly dry. 2. you need to harvest a banana husk or trunk to pull off a good Imu because it has a lot of moisture in it and it will protect the food that you’re cooking from burning. 3. Make sure you have strong men to help you dig a hole. I have a second video coming to show you what it actually looked like once it was cooked and how we served it.
