3 habits to create for yourself that let kids know you value their play:
💫After they’ve finished playing (don’t interrupt) say something specific about what you see. Instead of “what did you play?” Try saying, “I noticed you arranged all of the horses over there. I’m so curious what was happening in there…”
💫Show them you value their effort. “Before we clean up, should we take a picture or save certain parts for tomorrow?”
💫When they mention a game or idea that they have say “That sounds like an important idea - should I write it down to remind you when we get home/ get to the park?”
🗣️COMMENT VALUE and we will DM you a few more simple ideas to show your child that you care about their ideas.
