Sound up šŸ”Š! Do Mondays just make you want to scream? Well, you're not alone. American pikas scream all the time. In fact, they're notoriously vocal. They, chirp, sing and scream as a way to protect their territory. We think they do a great job. There is also research that indicates pikas can recognize other individual pikas by their call! So behold, the mighty & otherwise utterly cute roar of the American #pika! The Center has been working to protect squeaky little pikas under the Endangered Species Act since 2007. šŸŽ„: National Park Service [Video description: Video is of an American pika sitting in some dirt atop a rocky surfacy while vocalizing.]
