💡 A common misconception is thinking that AT has to be high tech tools, but that’s not the case! IDEA defines AT as: “any item, piece of equipment, or product system, whether acquired commercially off the shelf, modified, or customized, that is used to increase, maintain, or improve the functional capabilities of a child with a disability.” It does not include anything that has been implanted, like a cochlear implant.
