E Train Talks started as a way for me to connect to the outside world during Covid-19. I attended virtual library book clubs and reviewed books on my podcast. It was also during Covid that I learned about book deserts and about low early literacy rates. Although I was only ten years old, I decided I wanted to do something, so I stated interviewing authors and sharing more book reviews, but I wanted to do more, so with the help of my parents, I founded E Train Talks, Inc. A 501(c)(3) nonprofit. My nonprofit is small, but its heart is big. My mission is to inspire a love of stories in as many children as I can. Books change lives and having the ability to read is necessary for all paths. If I can inspire even one child to pick up a book and read or motivate children to want to learn to read, then I know my journey has been worth it.
