Ireland gave France an almighty scare in Ravenhill this afternoon but in the end the French side proved too much for Scott Bemand’s team.
Aoife Wafer crossed the line to bring the score to 15-17 with twelve minutes left in the contest but that was as good as it got as a penalty and Emillie Boullard converted try saw France pull away.
Ireland had trailed 5-17 at the interval but a French red card gave them renewed impetus in the second half - unfortunately it wasn't enough in the end.
