Firstie Friday! This week’s edition of #FirstieFriday features Midshipman 1/C (senior) Olivia Zhang from Queens, New York. Olivia is a Nuclear Engineering major, minoring in Chinese, and a member of usna32co. As the editor-in-chief and president of the Lucky Bag, Olivia leads the creation of the Naval Academy’s historied 850-page yearbook, the largest of its kind in the world. Each year, a new edition of the Lucky Bag is published, providing every midshipman and newly commissioned graduate with a copy as a keepsake of their time at the Academy. With 70 photographers and editors under her leadership, Olivia ensures that the countless stories, quotes, and timeless antics of the Brigade of Midshipmen are captured and preserved. In addition to her role as the editor-in-chief of the Lucky Bag, Olivia plays a crucial role on the USNA Public Affairs team, contributing many of the photos seen on USNA social media.
