Firstie Friday! This week’s #FirstieFriday features 6th Battalion Commander Alexander Grande, a member of 27co_ducks and a Data Science Major from Chattanooga, TN! As Batt CDR, Alex is in charge of providing leadership and close oversight of six companies, ensuring good order and discipline within the battalion. Alex wanted to serve the battalion that has been family since plebe year. He saw this billet as a valuable opportunity to practice the leadership skills attained over his time at this institution, leveraging the one-on-one connections forged to effectively coordinate and communicate with other midshipmen officers. “At the end of the day, I strive to empower the Company Commanders under me to succeed and cultivate their own cultures, all the while increasing the competence and preparedness of the Battalion.” Outside of class, this academic weapon is on the varsity heavyweight rowing team and enjoys backpacking, swimming, grilling steaks, and dirt biking.
