This week’s edition of
#FirstieFriday features Midshipman 1/C (senior) Emily Tannenbaum from Long Island, NY.
Tannenbaum is a Chinese major and a proud member of 19th Company. She sets the example as a squad leader, company peer advisor, and as chair of the Student Athlete Advisory Council.
She is also a member of the women’s tennis team, and was the recipient of of the 2024 NAAA Thompson Trophy cup; an award “presented to the midshipman, male or female, declared by the Association’s athletic committee to have done the most during the year for the promotion of athletics at the Naval Academy.”
In her free time, Emily enjoys playing classical piano, hiking, running, and reading. Her favorite summer training was Mountain Warfare, Plebe Summer detail staff, and Leatherneck in Quantico, Va. Her most cherished memory here is winning last year’s Patriot League tennis championship for the first time in history.
