‘Echoes of the Andes’ | Can you spot the cat? Millions of years of glacial erosion and fierce winds have sculpted the jagged peaks of the Southern Andes into the iconic spires that ring the snow-fed lakes and valleys. Pumas can be seen scaling the rock faces for a better vantage point, just as at home in the cliffs as they are patrolling the valleys below for guanacos. They have lived in the mountains for thousands of years, and with plenty of prey and protected areas to roam, they are likely to thrive here for many more.
