According to Chris Rock's semi-autobiographical sitcom, Everybody Hates Chris but everybody loves Voltron! In the season 3 episode, "Everybody Hates Mother's Day," Julius Rock (played by the incomparable Terry Crews) suggests that Chris' younger brother Drew get rid of everything he hasn't used in 6 months. This includes his full set of Panosh Place Voltron Lions. Soon after, while watching an Antique's Roadshow-type program, they learn that the same toy could be worth $150 dollars. Now, if you, like us, wonder how a Voltron toy released in 1984 tripled in price by 1986, the episode's setting, we're just going to have to suspend our disbelief. Looking to cash in, Julius and Drew drive to every thrift shop in town looking for their toy. They find it in the hands of a boy who just bought it for $2. At first the boy's father is willing to flip the toy for $18 profit. However, Drew recognizes the fan-and-toy connection between the boy and Voltron. He talks his dad into letting ...
