It's no surprise that Matt Groening's animated science fiction sitcom got around to a Voltron spoof. Futurama and Voltron are opposite sides of the same "Can be funny/can be serious" space coin (RIP Seymour). What might be a surprise is that Futurama started the satirical segment with Voltron's iconic theme song, and featured a very familiar mighty robot. Unfortunately for the Action Delivery Force, Zagtar, the Futurama universe's version of Voltron, was destroyed by the Crystal Space Devil. This is what happens when you try to defend the universe on a discount! Fry's actor, Billy West, must have felt right at home in the parody.
