Many fans remember Sven dying in episode 6 of Voltron: Defender of the Universe. It sure looked that way. However, in episode 41: There Will Be A Royal Wedding, we find out the truth: Sven lives! But his life isn't easy. The planet was raided, he was taken hostage, and he had a crisis of confidence that he wasn't able to stop Zarkon's attack. However, with the help of Allura's cousin Princess Romelle, Sven overcame his self-doubt, fought his way off the planet, got back in touch with Voltron Force, and even helped them fight Haggar's latest Robeast, the Iron Maiden. Of course, in Beast King GoLion, the anime whose footage was used to create Voltron's Lion Force, the Sven character, Takashi Shirogane, did die in episode 6. This was Ryou Shirogane, Takashi's brother. But because the characters looked identical, the Voltron creative team was able to use this footage to tell the story of Sven's return.
