#fosterFriday Meet Duke, the bravest little pup around! Duke and his seven siblings arrived in our care at just one month old. The tiny puppies were placed into foster homes until they grew big enough to be spayed/neutered and adopted. After a week in foster care, Duke became extremely sick. His foster immediately brought him to our clinic where Duke tested positive for parvovirus. Parvo is an highly contagious virus that attacks the gastrointestinal system and can be fatal for young puppies and unvaccinated dogs if left untreated. Luckily, we caught the virus early and were able to administer the Canine Parvovirus Monoclonal Antibody (CPMA), which can be a life-saving first step in battling Parvo. After just 24 hours, Duke was more alert and on the path to recovery. After a few days of intense care at our clinic, Duke returned to foster care to finish his recovery.
