Colorado State University hurricane researchers are predicting an above-average Atlantic hurricane season in 2025, which is likely to produce stronger and more frequent storms than a typical year but with less intensity than last season. The university’s Tropical Cyclones, Radar, Atmospheric Modeling and Software team published its 2025 Atlantic hurricane season forecast Thursday. The group predicts we’ll see nine hurricanes occur throughout the season, with four of the storms expected to be major.
