Gov. Josh Shapiro and his family were evacuated from the Pennsylvania Governor's Residence in Harrisburg overnight Sunday after a fire was intentionally set inside the property. Officials allege that 38-year-old Cody Balmer used a homemade incendiary device to set the fire. He’s set to face numerous charges, including attempted homicide. Shapiro said he and his wife, Lori, have been overwhelmed with the messages of support after the attack. But the Pennsylvania governor said, “this kind of violence is becoming far too common in our society.” “We have to be better than this,” Shapiro said. “We have a responsibility to all be better."
