Last night, the OU Symphony Band honored the 30th anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing with a powerful concert, titled "From Far to Near."
The program, performed by 60 student musicians, featured seven works exploring themes of resilience, remembrance, and healing. This included the debut performance of "Cathedral of Fountains," a deeply moving piece inspired by the Survivor Tree at okcnm and composed by Aaron Perrine. A snippet can be heard in the second slide. The full performance is on our Facebook.
This oumusic performance was a tribute to the 168 lives lost, the hundreds injured, and the countless lives forever changed on April 19, 1995.
