⬅️ Throwback to when the blackartsconsortium hosted visual artist Abraham Oghobase at the Herskovits Library for an artist talk as a culmination of his artist residency with them. Using his photography-based practice, Oghobase engages with issues around knowledge production, land, colonial history, and representation by deconstructing traditional modes of making and experimenting with the narrative and material potential of images and objects. Looking forward ➡️ Don't miss your chance to attend their next guest lecture, “Curating Ailey” with Adrienne Edwards on April 23 at 6:00 p.m. in Abbott Hall on the Downtown Chicago campus. Edwards is the curator of "Edges of Ailey," the first large-scale museum exhibition to celebrate the life, influence, and enduring legacy of visionary artist and choreographer Alvin Ailey, at the whitneymuseum. This talk will be held in collaboration with the Critical Dance Studies Cluster and Art, Theory, Practice. RSVPs are recommended but not required....
